p.a.n.d.a. 2PS

The Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) in Tasmania is committed to schools growing their capacity in providing educational equity for students with disability. The 2PS Program, available in Government schools through a DECYP contract, supports this commitment by assisting education staff to meet the diverse learning needs of students with physical, sensory, and/or psychosocial delay or disability.

2PS Program

The 2PS Program focuses on the teacher as the client. Services may include:

professional learning and training support
consultative support for school staff to develop appropriate physical, sensory and psychosocial programs within school settings addressing teacher identified goals for student learning
advice on educational adjustments to teaching programs, strategies and environments
assistance for education staff with resource development
assistance for teachers to screen students for physical, sensory and/or psychosocial needs with a view to maximising engagement and learning.

This program does not provide parent education, home programs, ongoing therapeutic interventions and therapy services for individual students, or allow for individual assessments (except upon a direct request from the Manager of Disability Services) as these services are available through NGOs, NDIS service providers, and other Government agencies.
